confidence - Desktop Confidence Tests
DDDDEEEESSSSCCCCRRRRIIIIPPPPTTTTIIIIOOOONNNN
The confidence tests are a collection of programs used to verify the
functionality of a subset of Irix peripherals.
audio Basic audio input and output functionality
cdrom Generic CD-ROM
dial_buttons* Dials and Buttons device.
floppy Floppy and floptical device test.
keyboard Basic (US) keyboard test.
monitor Basic monitor test.
mouse Basic mouse functionality test.
presenter Indy Presenter test
spaceball* SpaceBall test.
tablet* Tablet test.
tape 4mm, 8mm, DLT, QUIC tape test.
video Video test.
The tests marked with (*) are in the subsystem eoe.sw.optinput which must
be installed before those tests are available.
When the confidence test first starts, it will attempt to probe for any
devices that it can find. If a device is found then the test program for
that device will then be shown.
For further assistance consult the application's online help or the
release notes.

Not all Irix peripherials are covered or suitable, for ex disks. That is
generally done by fx(1).
Any test that uses the X server to communicate with the device cannot
accurately detect if the device is actually present or not. It can only
report if the X server has been configured for that device. The
